1. Introduction
TeeTime (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates a platform that helps you discover and book golf rounds, club events, trainers, caddies, rentals, and related services. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By creating an account, making a booking, or otherwise using TeeTime, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
2. Who we are
TeeTime is a golf booking service based in Kenya. For privacy questions, contact us at info@teetime.co.ke.
3. Information we collect
Account information
When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form). You may also add a phone number and other profile details.
Booking and membership information
When you book a tee time, event, trainer, caddie, rental, or membership, we collect:
- The service, course, event, or trainer you selected
- Date, time, duration, number of players, and any special requests
- Names and phone numbers of participants you provide so we can confirm the booking
- Payment status and booking history
Trainer information
If you register as a trainer, we collect the professional details you submit (such as bio, rates, and availability) so golfers can discover and book you.
Payment information
Card and mobile money payments are processed by Paystack. We receive payment confirmation, reference numbers, and status updates. We do not store your full card number or PIN.
Communications
We may send booking confirmations, reminders, and service messages by email or SMS. SMS is sent through our messaging provider. We keep logs needed to deliver and troubleshoot those messages.
Technical information
We collect information needed to run the site securely, such as session cookies, device type, and basic usage data. If you install our progressive web app, your device may also store a local install preference.
4. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Process bookings, memberships, and payments
- Share booking details with the relevant golf club, trainer, or service provider so they can fulfil your request
- Send confirmations, tickets, reminders, and important service notices
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and unpaid holds on tee times
- Improve TeeTime and respond to support requests
- Comply with Kenyan law, including tax and record-keeping obligations
5. Legal bases
We process personal data under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019. Depending on the activity, we rely on: performing a contract with you (for example, completing a booking), your consent (for optional communications), our legitimate interests in operating a secure platform, and legal obligations.
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide the service:
- Golf clubs, trainers, and other providers — so they can honour your booking
- Payment processors — currently Paystack, to collect payment
- SMS and email providers — to send confirmations and notices
- Service providers who host or support TeeTime under confidentiality obligations
- Authorities when required by law or to protect our rights, users, or partners
7. Cookies and sessions
We use essential cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, protect against cross-site request forgery, and remember basic site preferences. These are required for TeeTime to work. You can block cookies in your browser, but some features (including login) will not function.
8. How long we keep information
We keep account, booking, and payment records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to handle disputes, refunds, and legal requirements. SMS logs and unpaid booking holds are retained only as long as needed to operate the service. You may ask us to delete your account; we may retain limited records where the law requires it.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections, hashed passwords, and access controls. No online service is completely secure. Please use a strong password and keep it private.
10. Your rights
Subject to the Data Protection Act, 2019, you may request to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account or certain data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
To exercise these rights, email info@teetime.co.ke from the address on your account. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya.
11. Children
TeeTime is intended for adults who can form a binding contract. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of TeeTime after an update means you accept the revised policy.
